Harwelden Mansion

The Harwelden Mansion was built in 1926 and now houses the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa. Bobbie Whaling chose this Tulsa landmark for 2011 to celebrate the Arts & Humanities Council's 50th anniversary.

Bobbie Whaling has been creating beautiful ornaments depicting Tulsa scenery and landmarks for over twenty years. Each year she chooses a new site to represent in brass and gold as a lovely keepsake. Past subjects include the Tulsa Zoo, Oxley Nature Center, Gilcrease Museum, and Cain's Ballroom.

The Perfect Touch carries Whaling's Tulsa ornaments back to 1988 for $22.95 each. We just received the 2011 ornament, along with a supply of the 2010 ornament, which depicts Tulsa's rich heritage in professional baseball.

My Brighton Charm Bracelet was a birthday gift from my daughters and granddaughters. We were together for a girls’ outing. They all were wearing these lovely bracelets. They told me about their charms. I was thrilled when I opened one of my very own! It is such a blessing to know that although we span three generations we enjoy the same things. We have three generations sporting the fun and sparkly Brighton Charm Bracelets. My great-granddaughter is not big enough for the charm bracelets yet, but we ALL have Vera Bradley purses – four generations of Perfect Touch shoppers!

I received a call from Perfect Touch and was told I had a package to be picked up. It was from my best friend, Melissa, who surprised me with a Brighton necklace and "friend" charm for our 60th year of friendship. We met when we were three years old and have been BFFs ever since. She couldn't give it to me in person because she was in Dallas with her husband who was undergoing a bone marrow transplant for his Leukemia and Lymphoma. With all she was going through, she still took time to remember our friendship.

In 2008 a group of eight women who perform in a tap dancing troupe called the Step Sisters took a trip to New York City. During that trip something extraordinary happened: our disparate personalities bonded into a remarkable group we came to call the Fabulous NYC 8. Not long after returning from our trip, one of our members, a regular patron of the Perfect Touch, gave each of us a Brighton “Friends” bracelet. We wear those special bracelets, whether together or apart, as a reminder of our wonderful trip and our beautiful friendship.

My favorite gift from The Perfect Touch is the calendar that my daughter, Mindy, buys for me every year for my birthday. Just another calendar, you may think! But it is so much more. It’s the promise of another year filling the dates with activities spent with my darling daughter. It’s the hope of another prayer being answered making a challenging life a little easier. It’s the proof that tender moments lie ahead – love, joy, laughter, tears and a gentle hug from the most precious daughter a mother could have. All to be lovingly recorded on just another calendar.

Two days after my Dad passed away, I went into The Perfect Touch and shared a tearful hug with Dad and Mom's friend, Des. I told her I wanted something to remind me of Dad, and she helped me pick out the bracelet, "Faith, Hope and Love" bead, and Dad's birthstone, peridot (it was also Dad's favorite color.) I wear it every day, and I'm so thankful for Des.

Who is eligible?

Anyone who has ever given or received a gift purchased at The Perfect Touch (except employees and their families).

What can I win?

One Grand Prize winner will receive a $100 Gift Card to The Perfect Touch.

Five Finalists will receive a gift bag with goodies from The Perfect Touch.

How do I enter?

1. Find or take a digital picture of the gift item with both the giver and recipient, if possible.

2. Attach the photo (in JPG format) to an e-mail to Cindy at The Perfect Touch (cindy@perfecttouchgiftstore.com).

3. The e-mail should tell us why the gift was meaningful in less than 100 words.

4. The e-mail subject line should say, "The Perfect Gift Photo Contest."

5. Anyone who enters agrees that The Perfect Touch can use their name, picture, and entry in advertising and promotions for The Perfect Touch.

How long do I have?

The deadline to enter is Midnight (Central Time) October 31, 2010.

Who picks the winners?

The Five Finalists will be chosen by The Perfect Touch.

The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen by YOU!
